Remember that scenario, when god came down?
It was a moment I believed, fervently,
The both of us, together,
In the midst of every miracle recorded.
You leaned over and asked me what I was thinking.
I could have sworn, you were about to kiss me.
Cell phone goes off and you answer it.
You tell them goodbye, tell me to try
Then again, it was your game that day
Waiting for me, the pawn, to be taken over
We both knew that the moment couldn’t be retrieved
Then we safely departed, for another day.
Crossing our own boards of life.
